Photojournalism Acknowledgement

Please return this signed acknowledgement to Mrs. Peña as soon as possible. Students will not be allowed to use any photojournalism equipment or materials until this form is on file in the journalism office.!!!

I understand and accept the rules, procedures, and requirements for PHOTOJOURNALISM.

I understand that all camera equipment, film, and darkroom equipment that I might use are property of the Sinton High School Journalism Department and I must have the instructor’s permission to use any of the equipment. If any equipment is damaged or lost, or supplies wasted due to my poor judgment or negligence, I understand that I will be responsible for paying for repair or replacement of the equipment or materials.

I understand that on occasion it may be necessary for me to work before school, after school or on weekends to complete my assignments and meet deadlines, although the instructor will try to keep these occurrences to a minimum. I will contact the instructor if I am unable to cover an event to which I’ve been assigned and I know failure to do so will result in a reduction in grade.

I agree that the journalism department’s equipment and supplies will be used only for school related assignments or instructor approved personal assignments. I will not take photos of illegal or inappropriate subject matter (as per the student handbook), and I will follow the ethical and legal standards for photojournalism.

I understand that not adhering to the outlined rules, procedures, and requirements could result in my failing or being removed from the class.
