Plagiarized/Cheating: Plagiarism is taking the work of another person and not giving credit for the source. It is a serious offense and will result in a disciplinary referral to the office and notification of parents. Students will not receive credit for plagiarized work. Cheating or copying the work of another student is against the SHS Code of Conduct and will result in a discipline referral to the office and notification of parents, both for the student who copied and for the student whose work was copied.

Make Up Work: If a student is absent and cannot give prior notification, he/she is responsible for finding out what was missed and for turning in all assignments. Students will be given two days for each day of absence to turn in make up work. After two days, the work falls under the category of late work and will be assessed as such. Students should contact the teacher prior to planned absences in order to get their work ahead of time and turn it in upon the day that they return, therefore protecting them from being overwhelmed with make up work. Late work: Students will be expected to turn in all assignments on the day that they are due, at the beginning of class. There will be a 11 point deduction for each day after the due date that the work is late. A maximum deduction of 50% will be assessed for late work over 5 days old. However, all late assignments that are still missing at the end of each three week cycle will be marked as zero, and there will be no chance to receive credit for that assignment. Communication is key…do not wait until the day before or the day of the assigned due date to let the teacher know there is a problem.
