While at Texas A&M I was actively involved in Collegiate FFA and the Ag Science department Peer Advisory group. I was also a part of the Aggie Symphonic Band for two years. Teaching ExperienceJuly 1998 to June 2001 - Alvin High School July 2001 to June 2007 - Santa Gertrudis ISD, Academy High School July 2007-June 2008 - Tuloso Midway High School July 2008 to present - Sinton High School Proudest Moment in TeachingIn July 1999 I had a bright eyed freshman tug on my sleeve in Amarillo, Texas at the Texas FFA Convention and tell me she was going to take me up on stage one day as the Ag teacher of the state president. In July 2002 Lindsay Allen was elected as the Texas FFA President and the next July she kept her word by taking me on stage in Houston, Texas in front of close to 9,000 FFA members and guests and introduced me as her friend, mentor and Ag teacher. I still have her first state officer jacket in my classroom reminding me everyday why I love my job! |
