Housing is a one semester lab course that focuses on the management of family housing needs, housing and the environment, and career preparation. Content includes types of housing, legal and financial aspects of housing, home safety and maintenance, space utilization, factors affecting housing choices, technology applications, and basic housing construction features. Other topics are interior and exterior environmental issues; impact of housing decisions on managing multiple family, community, and career roles; career options; and housing trends for the future.

  • 1st Six Weeks: Decision making, management, safety, employment skills related to housing
  • 2nd Six Weeks: Construction, availability, careers in housing
  • 3rd Six Weeks: Elements and principles of design, environmental issues
